Private Pay Therapist in Los Angeles

Choosing a private pay therapist in Los Angeles means your treatment is decided in the room, by you and your therapist, not by an insurance company deciding how many sessions you can have or what your treatment should look like.

Life Threads Therapy® is an out-of-network practice by design: one flat rate, no surprises, and insurance paperwork we handle for you.

One Flat Rate. No Surprises.

Every session at Life Threads Therapy® is $200, whether you are here for individual therapy, EMDR, couples work, or therapy for your teen. There are no sliding scales or hidden fees for different types of care: you get the specialized expertise you need for one clear price.

That simplicity is the point. Instead of navigating tiered rates and billing codes, you know exactly what therapy costs before you start, and the initial 20-minute consultation costs nothing at all.

Out-of-Network Therapist in Los Angeles: How Superbills Work

Out-of-network does not mean insurance never helps. Most PPO plans with out-of-network benefits reimburse a percentage of each session after a superbill, an itemized receipt for care, is submitted. Our clients typically see a significant share of the session cost returned to them, often between 50 and 80 percent depending on the plan.

At Life Threads, you do zero paperwork. We check your benefits before your first session, we file the claims after you pay at the time of service, and your insurance company mails reimbursement directly to you.

Why Therapists and Clients Choose Private Pay

Insurance-based care ties treatment to authorization: how many sessions, which diagnosis, what kind of therapy. Operating out-of-network lets us focus entirely on your care, matching the approach to you rather than to a plan's rules, and continuing the work for exactly as long as it is actually helping.

It also keeps the relationship simple. You choose your therapist by fit rather than by network directory, and the two of you decide together what the work should look like.

Private Pay, Answered Plainly

The money questions people want settled before they book.

A flat $200 per session, for every service: individual, couples, teen, and EMDR sessions alike. The initial 20-minute consultation is free.
We are an out-of-network provider, which means you pay us directly and we file superbill claims on your behalf. Most PPO insurance plans with out-of-network benefits then reimburse you a percentage of the fee by mail.
A superbill is an itemized receipt for therapy services with the information your insurance company needs to process out-of-network reimbursement. At Life Threads you never have to assemble or submit one yourself; we handle the claims process for you.
It depends on your carrier and plan. Reimbursement for out-of-network sessions commonly ranges from around half of the fee to most of it. We verify your specific benefits before your first session, for free, so you know the real number up front.
Sometimes that is the right call, and we will say so. Private pay makes sense when fit and continuity matter more than network status: you pick the therapist, the approach is tailored to you, and no third party decides when the work is done.

Care First. Paperwork Handled.
